Assassin’s Creed Shadows takes the franchise to 16th century Japan as players will step into the roles of a Japanese shinobi, Naoe, and – in a series first – a real-life historical samurai, Yasuke.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows ventures into 16th century Japan, offering players the chance to embody two distinct yet equally compelling characters: Naoe, a skilled shinobi hailing from Iga Province, and Yasuke, a real-life historical figure renowned as an African samurai. This marks the first time in the series that players will experience the world through the eyes of a samurai.

To delve deeper into the game's main characters, historical backdrop, and narrative, players can glean insights directly from Creative Director Jonathan Dumont and Assistant Director of Cinematic Design Akim Milne. The game is set to launch on November 15 across various platforms, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, Macs with Apple silicon via the Mac App Store, as well as Windows PC through the Ubisoft Store and the Epic Games Store.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows intertwines the stories of Naoe and Yasuke against the tumultuous backdrop of the late Sengoku period. As they navigate through this era of upheaval and conflict, the duo will uncover their shared destiny, playing pivotal roles in shaping the future of Japan.

The journey from chaos to purpose, from darkness to light, serves as a central theme in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. As Naoe and Yasuke embark on their quest, they will strive to uphold a new Creed—one that heralds a brighter future for Japan amidst the shadows of uncertainty and turmoil.
